Looking past the way you presented the issue, can you please be specific? What happens and when? It is a machine, so could it be that you haven't acclimated to it yet? Are you familiar with past trackpads? What is your credit card number and mother's maiden name?

That ought to do for now.

At least it's big! I used one at the store and it seemed fine, maybe you need to alter your standards or customize the options to make it fit your trackpad-ing style.

I have had no problems with my MB's trackpad. I actually like it more than other one's I have used because of its size.

What he said. They're all wasted space, as far as I'm concerned. Give me a two button mouse with a scroll wheel.

I have third party drives with the ablity to program up to five mouse buttons on my trackpad, and I still would rather use a two button mouse with scroll ablities... I find my fingure gets sore when I use the trackpad for an extended period of time. Its fine for a few hours, but not all day.

well another person i know that bought a 2 ghz white macbook has had the same issue...after typing, it just doesn't respond for a second or two, i have to wave my finger around for a second to get it to recognize, it's just annoying...but yes, i had an ibook for quite some time, so i'm familiar with trackpads, and it was a lot more responsive than this.

oh yeah, i also love the size, it's quite nice

So, you're saying that you did turn off the "Ignore trackpad while typing" option, correct?

I guess Apple changed the label for it. Disable the "Ignore accidental trackpad input" one.

It's okay Brad, we all have problems with reading and comprehension.

For what it's worth, Apple did change the label.

Prior to Mac OS X 10.4, this option was labeled as I originally described.

Actually, on my PB in 10.4.6 it's still labeled "ignore accidental input". Must be a MB only change.

I think his MB also says "ignore accidental input". Brad was saying that before 10.4 it said "ignore trackpad while typing".

You misread.

In Panther, the checkbox was labelled "Ignore trackpad while typing". As of Tiger, it is labelled "Ignore accidental trackpad input" — regardless of the machine.

I've not had this problem; however, you should make sure that you don't have *any* part of your hand even barely touching the trackpad - that'll make it attempt to scroll, rather than move the cursor.

I really have nothing to put here, but I feel it's rather strange to not have one.

My tracking speed is set even slower. Since OS X's acceleration curve is so excellent, it really doesn't matter. I can still get across the entire screen in less than a second.
