hey it's my first thread here, because i've some some questions about th line in conection on MBP.
i've recorded a concert on my stereo system and now i would like to pass it to MBP. I open the soundtrack pro and the conection mini jack (mac) and rca (stereo system) does not appear to have signal, and entering the sound to the recording process on soundtrack. i've allready went to the system prefs, and over there i saw that the line in microphone had signal and the line in connection doesn't. i don't make any thought of this error... could anyone help on this? thanks in advance.. |

I just pulled up STP to test recording for the first time. Do you have the correct input selected in the software instead? Mine defaulted to the correct inputs coming from my firewire interface and my short test of audio recording seems to work just fine. I'm sorry I don't know more about all of this to help out anymore.

You need to set line-in as the active device in System Preferences (where you looked to see the mic had signal). Once you do this you should have sound and be able to record it. You may need to boost the signal going to the MBP, turn up your stereo's volume until you see the signal in the range you need it.
