I used the Boot Camp utility to remove my XP install, and now my MacBook Pro (15", 1.83, 1.5GB, 80GB, 10.4.7) is behaving strangely on startup.

Every time I boot, it flashes the good old "System folder not found" icon before the Apple logo displays. It also takes much longer to boot than it did before Boot Camp. Am I paranoid, or is this an indication of some sort of problem? If it is a problem, what can I do to fix it?

Going to Startup Disk and selecting your Mac partition will probably fix this. If not, try resetting the PRAM/NVRAM.

Thanks, chucker. That seems to have fixed my problems.

Hi,

I have the same problem with my MacBook Pro 17inch, but resetting the PRAM/NVRAM doesn't change anything.

It would be nice if anybody could help.

Did you change the partition setting in the Startup Disk control panel?

Ok thanks,

Could you just explain me a bit how to do it, that would be great.

Cheers

Open System Preferences, click 'Startup Disk' under the System heading. Select the partition you want to startup from, and close the window (or hit 'Restart' to test it right away).
