for the last couple of months my .mac account has been getting slammed with spam!

i have had this account for years and just recently i have been getting a ton of "stock tips" it is getting worse and Apple:Mail does not have a good built-in blocker (if it does i don't know how to use it)

any advice/software to block these stock tip spam emails?

thanks!

WR, somehow I don't think it was funny, considering he's asking for a help...

Matt- I don't know of any spam blocker, but can you check if your .mac account supports bouncing emails? That is probably more effective than simply blocking it.

Yeah, I think Banana got the joke part since he mentioned that it wasn't funny.

For the original poster: Apple's KB gives a quick primer on Mail's Junk Mail filter, though you may already be acquainted with this. I've read of other Mail users "losing" their filter settings once in a while, though whether this would affect the Junk Mail filter, I don't know. (Grasping at straws here.)

A google search revealed some quite good solutions, although since I don't use apple:mail yet, it is not very useful!

Are you saying you didn't know Mail has a spam filter or that it's not any good?

(Preferences -> Junk Mail -> Enable junk mail filtering)

Spam Blocker works pretty well for me. Only about 2 a week get thru, considering I get about 5 spam messages a day. I would say thats not bad.
