Does anyone know if the new 640 x 480, NOT WIDESCREEN, videos from the music store will play on the original iPods with video?

I'm not quite sure what the "not widescreen" comment means, but I bought one of the MythBusters episodes earlier tonight and loaded it onto my iPod video. It played fine... the quality when hooked up to the TV is quite acceptable for the most part as well.

I think he just means he's pissed that there isn't a widescreen option for playing the videos. Or at least that's what I got out of it.

What's the resolution for widescreen movies?
Apple.com just says "Resolution varies with file aspect ratio" or something. I'm guessing it's less than 640x480, and not more. Oh well. cue the lights and dim the stars |

What I meant was that there are more pixels in a fullscreen video (640 x 480) than in a widescreen video (640 x 360 (or something like that)). Thus, there is more information to handle in a fullscreen video. I think I've already found my answer elsewhere, but confirmation wouldn't hurt. My question is (more clearly stated): will a video at 640 x 480 newly purchased from the music store play on the old 5G iPods after they receive the software update?

It's 640x360 for the MythBusters episode that I purchased.
I can't answer your question as I don't have a 640x480 from iTMS, but I imagine that it should work. |

Hmm...640x360 seems just about right for a widescreen iPod video, too...
