So my Radeon 1900XT finally came! Happy happy joy joy, my Mac Pro can now take over for my old Alienware which currently resides somewhere in South Carolina.

I installed the 1900XT, Booted OS X. Having never upgraded the video card on a Mac before, I half expected at LEAST a resolution change to be necessary, if not a driver install as well.

Not the case. Resolution and drivers were not an issue. I had to check the System Profiler, because I didn't actually believe I had changed anything!

Sure enough, GPU: ATi Radeon 1900XT. Beauteous. OS X, how I love thee.

But OS X was not the reason I bought the 1900XT, Windows XP was. So, I booted into XP, fully prepared to do some driver hunting at 640x480

I didn't even get that far. Upon booting, my keyboard and mouse which worked fine before (the eject key was always no go, but you can't win 'em all) no longer responded. The mouse wasn't even lighting up. The keyboard doesn't work either.

I am using a macally iceKey and a Logitech MX518 mouse. Corded. No wireless for me. I tried plugging the mouse directly into the computer, and still, no dice.

Oh Windows. Only an OS broken as you would destroy the KEYBOARD and MOUSE drivers upon a GPU installation.

Does anyone have ANY idea what is causing this? Has anyone had a similar problem upon 1900XT upgrade?

I want to play F.E.A.R., damnit!

What about plugging the mac keyboard and mouse that came with your mac pro ?

For me, everything worked very well. I downloaded the drivers from ATI site, install them, reboot, and everything runs like a charm (everything means oblivion/ghost recon/company of heroes, ...)

I could do that, but then how would I make the iceKey and the MX518 work in the long run?

I guess beggars can't be choosers. I bet that if I use an Apple Keyboard, the MX518 should work with that.

It's worth a shot. I hate Windows.

P.S. Hows Oblivion? How high can you get the settings?

Okay, so that didn't work. Still have no use of keyboard/mouse.

I was considering reburning the drivers CD, but if I can't even move the mouse....

Anyone have any ideas?
