What do you guys think? I just bought a Slate Tablet PC, should get it tomorrow. I was always a PDA guy, but recently Palm has stopped making PDA's and switched to smart-phones.... Anyways, I never really thought much about the Convertible tablets, but the slate models caught my eye. Theres also been talk (again) of Apple coming out with a Tablet. So, would you ever buy a Tablet?

After trying buying pretty much everything that every manufacturer has tried to bring to market in the last 10 - 15 years... I would only consider experimenting with another one if Apple made the UI.

Well, I bought an older (2003) Motion M1300. The person I bought it from had about 20 unopened units. So I snatched one up for cheap. I'll post some pics when I get it tomarrow. Nothing special, Celeron 900mhz, 512mb RAM, 12" 1024x768 screen.

Yes, I would. Hell, I almost did.

I'd love an Apple tablet. Barring any compact MacBooks, I'm pretty sure my next setup will be an iMac and a small tablet. But that's a ways off yet.

$485 Considering in 2003 they were $2,000 and it's still sealed in the plastic, it's not a bad deal.

I find tablets awkward to use, but I'd reconsider if Apple made one that somehow made it more comfortable.

I tried using one to take notes in class, but I always write 5x larger than normal on touch screens. A pen and paper "just work".

If only this worked with Macs... *sigh*

You had me at asl

Any tablet I have ever used has been a pretty bad experience. The accuracy was just never good enough, though saying that, these were usually pretty low budget models.

Not all at once. He trades things soon after he gets them. I'm taking bets now on deciding how long he keeps this one

For my uses, no way would I buy a tablet. I want to be able to see the screen as I'm using it, and the only way to do that with a tablet would be to make it twice as big as the iBook I have now.
