I got a letter from Domain Registry of America and it informed me that my domain name expires on March 16, 2007
I want to renew the name for 5+ years, but the cost listed in the letter seems exhorbitant considering you can register a new name for like $10 Their prices are: 1 year - $30 2 years - $50 3 years - $95 Is this the only company you can extend your domain name with or are there other cheaper companies you can extend your domain name with. BTW I use Dreamhost if that makes any difference. |

It says normally, you should extend with someone else, or you can rehost with us for a massive cost.
You should just renew with your usual domain seller. For example, I bought my domain for £4.50 for 2 years, and nominets letter asked for £90! Procrastinators unite! Tomorrow. |

GoDaddy is very inexpensive, especially if you transfer.

I get those letters all the time. It's a company that is basically trying to get you to transfer your domain to them and make it look like its your only option. Just continue to renew with your host of choice, or find a cheaper one out there. All of my domains are registered and renewed at $5.99 a pop and I would be very hard pressed to pay more then that. Just trash the mailer.
