Hi all,

I often put my powerbook to sleep using the shortcut keys: alt-cmd-eject (I'm sure I read about it here sometime back).

This seems to have stopped working. Is this a 10.4.9 change (installed that recently) or is it peculiar to my PB?

Works fine on my 12-inch PowerBook (with 10.4.9) as of 60 seconds ago. Try installing again, with the combo updater this time?

Just like Ctrl-Eject, you need to hold down the keys; tapping them simply won't cut it anymore. I thought the delay was 1 second (as with Ctrl-Eject), though it was suggested on the 10.4.9 thread here that it's actually about 0.5 seconds.

I thought that the delay extended to Ctrl-Eject, as reported by Macs Only!, but from some posts I've read in the IMG forums, the delay also holds for Alt-Cmd-Eject too.

Remember: it's not a bug, it's actually a feature (no, seriously - but come to think of it, this actually might be a bug, since I don't recall it being mentioned in the release notes).

Thanks for the replies. It was the delay that was catching me out. Works fine if I hold the keys down for a while (1/2 second maybe). It certainly never used to be there but I can live with it.
