OK guys here's the thing:
Girlfriend uses a Macbook, I use in iMac. She has always had her printer in her "home office" connected to a DELL running XP (from before she switched to the Mac). Printer shared, printing from both the Macbook and iMac was never a problem. Printer died. She bought a new printer today (HP Photosmart D6100 series). Now it is nice to have the printer connected to the XP box because she avoids the hassle of always having to connect it to her Macbook, is able to print from another room too and I can print from another room using my iMac. The new printer came with nice Universal OS X drivers, and both our Macs see the new shared printer on the XP box. The problem is that I cannot select the printer model in the OS X dialog where you define a printer's make and model, while I installed all the software that came with it on both Macs. When connecting the printer directly to the Macs, it uses the correct driver, when selecting it as a shared printer, I don't see it listed in OS X's list of printer drivers. Anyone knows a trick in locating the actual driver file? Rev High ! Squadra T |
