Hello,
Is there a way to convert a jpg (I printed a page in Word, signed it, then scanned it... which produces a jpg or pdf document. Unfortunately, when I send this to someone, they can't print it... so I think I need to convert the jpg (or pdf) to Word before sending it. Is there a way to do this? Or a better workflow for me? Thanks, Malcolm |

Seriously, I would just tell them to get Acrobat reader. It's not your fault that they can't use a PDF.

You could also just scan in your signature and insert it into the Word file. It won't have any legal weight, but neither will a PDF. And tell them to stop living in the early 90s.

Tricky. To get it back into word format would require OCR (Optical Character Recognition) which is prone to mistakes. And you'd have to reformat the whole thing anyway.
Why don't you have access to the original word file? Why can't they print the jpg? I am not saying she is engaged in small-scale mining operations for precious metals, but I have never seen her associate with any gentlemen of African American origin who are suffering financial embarrassment. Scan your signature, paste it in the appropriate location in the doc, digitally sign the doc, then send it to them.

or, you could just insert the image into the word document (insert, image, from file)...if you don't need to edit it again, that'll work just fine.

thank you everyone.
(I was out all day; just checking this forum now). I appreciate all the advice. I'll try inserting the image as suggested. Cheers, Malcolm |

They can't print a jpg, and they won't go get the free Adobe Reader?
Good god, what are they running, Windows 3.1?!? Seriously, that's just asinine. Embedding the jpg inside a Word document isn't going to make it magically printable if they can't print the jpg in the first place. You may get away with converting it to a Windows Bitmap (.bmp) file though... although I'd tell them to get a real computer, or at least learn how to use their current one. At the *VERY* least they should tell you exactly what format they want it in... and if it doesn't work when you send it to them in that format, it's their problem, not yours. My other brain is hung like a horse too. #IRC isn't old school. Old school is being able to say 'finger me' with a straight face. |
