So i got an idea from another thread where atomicbartbeans was bored. Someone suggested, when they were shown a map of where he is, that he go out and take a photo of some random object.
I thought this could be a really cool idea. I thought we could give the general location of where we live, and a google map to start, and people would have to go to somewhere that someone else picks and take photos. They would have to make the photos interesting and not boring, so they might have to think about it a bit, if someone chooses a shit spot. Or the other person might choose a touristy type place so they can see what it's like. What do you guys think? |

No problem. First, go to Chesterfield MO and dig under the tree off Chesterfield Parkway and Schoettler Valley Dr. and you'll find the next coordinates.

Here's my map.
Keep in mind we're in the middle of a transit strike. ABB: The cemetery looks interesting. ![]() |

Ooh! That's where I was going to mention!
Specifically, there's a round area with a path or something around it a little north of center. It has two rings of stones circling one single stone shaded by a single tree. I would love to know who that person is. He/she must be of some importance to the area. ![]() So it goes. |

![]() I might not get the chance to check it out until this afternoon (gotta fix the car) but I'll take some pictures today. |

Here's my general area. It'll be good practice for me to get the camera out again.

So... someone posts a map location... and then someone else is supposed to go photograph that annnnd.... make the map poster guess where it is. Or?

Oh I was assuming you could look at my map location and then tell me to take a picture of something that looks interesting in my area. Then I'd post the pic here.

Here are my pics of Duck Creek Park. There's a cool little skate park in there, and horseshoe and bocci pits. It's a nice place.

![]() What's in the middle here? What kind of statue is in the middle circle? Can I play too? I'm near this area. Try to avoid asking me to get pictures in the military bases. I might get shot. ![]() Louis L'Amour, “To make democracy work, we must be a notion of participants, not simply observers. So I got the the site and as suspected I saw a gate.
![]() Click for photostream. So I took some shots around the entrance since I wasn't expecting to be able to legally go near the building. Now I realized just how out of practice I was with the camera and the fact that it was a gray and overcast day didn't help me. And through all of this it wasn't until I got home that I realized I left it on 200 ISO. You would think I don't know how to use a camera. So here are a few of the pictures from the road leading in without trespassing. There were a couple of signs that indicated we can't drive in there. So I grabbed a few shots from the entrance area. ![]() Well, while I was getting ready to leave I saw a couple of people walking dogs by the building back there so I figured there must be a way to get back there. I noticed a "walking trail" sign and decided to follow it. I ended up parking at the trail entrance and walking the path to the house. This is the view I ended up getting after walking the path on the side. It seems the path it ok for walking but you can't drive your car down onto the property. So I walked around and took some pictures. Since I'm limited to 12 images in the thread, see the Flickr feed to see all of them. ![]() ![]() ![]() After walking around this place it was obviously a personal residence at one point but has now become property of the city. I looks like it was a desirable property too. I would have loved to raise my kids there, after expanding the house a little that is. Also, how did you get a link ot the map where you wanted me to check out? I can't seem to get a link to a pin point, only the city. ![]() Louis L'Amour, “To make democracy work, we must be a notion of participants, not simply observers. I think I could go there, but not before next weekend (when I get out of the office, it's usually dark already). It's used at the "Cannstatter Wasen", the second largest beer fest (after the Oktoberfest in Munich). Quote:
