I'm looking for a solid blogging app that will let me post to my WordPress installation. I'm currently in the trial period for MarsEdit which seems pretty solid, but it also costs $30. I'm curious what people use for their blog and what they like about it.

I use MarsEdit mostly but I've also tried Ecto. Lately, I've been messing around with TextMate's blogging and it seems pretty robust. Whatever software you decide on, make sure to install the PHP port of Gruber's PHP Markdown to make formatting a bit more intuitive.

Ok, so I'm just getting into this whole thing.

I've been using both WordPress' dashboard and MarsEdit to post things so far, and I can say that I prefer MarsEdit by leaps and bounds.

I just wanted to know if you guys thought it was worth the $30? I really like it so far, but are there better options out there?

Wow. I forgot I posted this. Since I posted it I've been using MarsEdit for all my posting and editing, I only log into my site admin to see if WP's been updated. I saw it's well worth the $30 fee. It's great. I've not used their customer service, but I assume it's very good. When I purchased, I wrote that I love the software in the "comments" field on the form and within a few minutes the developer wrote me back thanking me for my purchase and the comments I left.

I tried Ecto and MarsEdit is by far the better product.

I just purchased MarsEdit.

I think this will suit my needs just fine.

Probably a good choice, but I might have waited to see what would be coming to the iPhone first. (Perhaps MarsEdit has already announced an iPhone version of their app is coming -- ?? -- which would render this moot.)
