I know there are some aficionados on this forum, so here goes.

I'm trying to find the name of a particular bicycle probably only produced in small expensive batches.

It was made of a pressed metal (steel or aluminium) monocoque shaped sorta like a Z joining rear wheel to crank to seat post to steering head. I believe they were finished in some sort of glow in the dark paint.

I think the Jason Lee character rode one in Vanilla Sky, but I'm probably mixing it up with some other film...

I've tried every google search I can think of, but not the right one of course...

Could be the Biomega MN. There's an option for a very bright green paint scheme, so that might be the 'glow-in-the-dark' you're thinking of. Someone's Flickr set is here in bright orange.

They were the bikes that Jessica Alba and her crew rode around on in Dark Angel, iirc.

So it goes.

Made me think of another exotic and old "Z" shaped bike called the Ibis Bow-Ti which takes advantage of titanium's incredible fatigue limit. There aren't any linkages or hinges on the bike, yet it achieves about 5" of rear wheel travel.

Obviously not monocoque though.

You actually solved someone's problem instead of causing it for once.

Weird, I know. It feels strangely unsatisfying.

Jesus christ. I try an experiment where I slam one of the good guys here for no reason, trying to get something going, and you just fucking agree with me and play nice.

Fucker!

It DOES glow in the dark!

The frame in Buttermilk is painted in a photo luminescent color that provides a beautiful and traffic-safe glow in the dark. The crystal paint on the MN02 developed in Switzerland gives you the most efficient nightglow available.
In the "old" days, the color was chosen for you, based on which model bike you chose. The Glow-in-the-dark one was obviously the most expensive one

Converted 07/2005.
