Information Here

According to the Article it adds "almost" push sync to Macs. Almost as in syncs within a minute...not for email though

Quote:
MobileMe

Contacts, calendars, and bookmarks on a Mac automatically sync within a minute of the change being made on the computer, another device, or the web at me.com.

Seems like a lot of useful little updates to the system.

Is it just me, or has every 5.x update included this line:
Quote:
Improves the reliability of AirPort connections, including improvements when roaming in large wireless networks with an Intel-based Mac.
I'm sure it's just me, but I seem to remember reading that, or something very similar to that, at least once or twice before, I only bring it up because, my airport connection is often spotty, despite being fairly close to the router.

Also: adds trackpad pane for laptops? Maybe this also means that the multitouch improvements on the new MacBooks will be ported back to the Air and the last MacBook Pro rev? (with multitouch)

I thought there was a trackpad feature/improvement in 10.5.6?

No, they completely yanked it out because they were tired of hearing everyone gripe about it. The official word from Apple, according to the press release is:

"Just use Yahoo! or Hotmail and STFU already. We give up, and have moved the Mail development team over to the iPod socks division."

An interesting development, no doubt.

That's odd. iMail works perfectly when syncing between my iPhone and my PowerBook G5.

I'm chillen like a villan, no news to report here - yet. Hopefully it fixes that stupid bug where on wake it just goes to a black screen. And sadly the "fixes issues with some ATI cards" can't fix a bad bump, software just can't do it.

On a side note, sorta, I hope the bad bumps issue makes it to court, despite the fact that I knew what I was getting into buying Rev A material.

Took a long time for this update to go in.

My MBA restarted twice, which seems to be normal of OS X updates these days, but the installation just seemed to hang for a while.

Everything seems to be working so far right now though.

I've not had any problems in the few hours I've had it installed, and up and running.

It did restart my iMac 2-3 times, though. I was in the other room and I'm pretty sure I heard the startup chime twice (and maybe three times).

I think it was just a lot of under-the-hood stuff, because nothing is jumping out at me (which is actually good in most cases).

Did this for me too, but eventually the 'Progress Bar' started moving again after ~5 minutes.

They added a trackpad pref pane, yes. They did not, however, bring the "bear claw" gesture (four finger swipe) to the Air, despite the fact that this is technically feasible.
