Is anyone else's internets being completely inundated by these ads? It seems that nearly every website I goto these days has some such variation of the "How I got RIPPED by following an easy rule!" or "No steroids or creatine! just ripped!" or "Blagrearatah!!!"

I do my share of weight lifting, and I read about fitness, supplements and the like often, but I also don't ever do searches for things while signed into Google, nor do I even use Google for a lot of my information. So I'm not sure if these ads are specifically being targeted to me based on my usage habits, or if it is a greater internet trend A la the Evony online free forever my lord ads.

The other one that is popping up a lot is the easy teeth whitening trick discovered by a mom no bleach ad. So, is this an internet pandemic, or is it a result of my interest in bodybuilding, teeth whitening and boobies?

A true pandemic will have mutations... when we see the Evony ripped teeth ads, it's time to flee.

I don't see any ads because I have an ad blocker.

You know, I had one for a while, but somewhere along the way I lost it. I think my HD failed and I never got it again, or something. Maybe it stopped working. I don't really know. But the point is, haha Luca you'll never be RIPPED in 4 weeks.

Ad networks are evil. Clear your cookies and see if things settle down so you can be flabby like the rest of us.

This stuff always seems to cycle around and follow patterns/hooks. A year or so ago, there were all these stupid "dancing" house refinance/loan ads.

And here lately, sure enough, I see these "before and after" ripped ads all over the damn place.

I know exactly which ones you were talking about

A year ago there were also lots of "Free money for moms from Obama!" ads, with pictures of screaming moms.

I get tons of "one secret to whiter teeth"/"lose weight with this simple trick invented by a mom" ads now.

Hey anyone try one of those Tower 200 door-frame-tension-gym-things from Randy Coture and Body by Flake? Or the Iso 7x? If anyone can vouch for the usefulness or effectiveness of these products I might consider one so I can get properly pumped up.

I've noticed the same 3 sets of ads recently, the "Get ripped" ones I can understand as they are usually on the MMA blogs I read. Teeth whitening is rather a strange one though, not sure where that comes from. The number of Evony ads I see isn't as high as a month or two back, but they are still just as creepy.

Those teeth whitening ads are frickin disgusting. I see those all over the place (sports sites, blogs, etc). There is a big flaw in the internet advertising business model because the sites claim they don't have any control over which ads show up... so it's some kind of bs ad network thing where the network has zero standards and just lets anything on there that isn't straight pr0n basically.

Mix one mashed up strawberry and a teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda. Apply like toothpaste. Good natural whitener.

Stop eating shit. Jog 3k per day. Do 300 sit-ups before breakfast and 200 in the evening. Intersperse them with leg lifts. Good natural ripped-getter.

Hey thanks for the tips, but you know, this thread wasn't about that at all right?

I wonder if I can really get ripped like this guy in 30 days. Looks completely realistic.

I guess they could just photoshop him some clothes to match his photoshopped muscles.

The scary thing is that there are some real, untouched photos of bodybuilders out there, and they're not that far from that pic. Some people overdo it a bit...

Remember that one idiot with the weird arm bulges all over? And he was proud of it!

I think they actually photoshopped his head to look smaller, thus making his muscles look bigger.

Per the subject of blocking ads, I highly recommend GlimmerBlocker. It's easier and more customizable than brute hosts file editing.

Learn it. Live it. Love it.

Yeah, I just thought it might be useful if anyone searches the forum for "tooth whitening"

GlimmerBlocker is brilliant. It also blocks ad content on video sites--UK users won't see adverts when using 4OD any more, for example. Genius.

As long as the ads don't actually do anything else but display a picture or some text, they don't really bother me. But I am a little peeved that my Russian girls have been replaced with some dudes six-pack.

People that build themselves up anywhere close to that clearly have a psychological disorder / sickness. Not too different than an emaciated, anorexic woman looking in the mirror and seeing "a fat person". It's merely the opposite extreme. These guys look in the mirror month after month as they bulk up, and probably see someone who "isn't big enough / strong enough / defined enough". They of course know that they're not fat or skinny (whereas an anorexic person truly does not see what they have become), but beyond that it's the same kind of affliction. Really sad....

I think they inject themselves with synthol to get this look. Do not click on the following, if you are squeamish:

You can't really inject your whole body with synthol, and even if you tried to, you wouldn't win any bodybuilding shows that way(because it creates such a disproportionate and bloated appearance. (At least that is my understanding of the substance, which to be fair, I haven't really looked into it). The guys that do it usually do it to their arms or chest and yeah, it's weird, but it's, imo, the same tier of weird as some of the more adventurous piercings and tattoos that people get. Just expressed differently.
