How much difference does bus speed make in a CPU?

I only have the 1.8ghz so I don't know..... someone please tell me that the $110 extra was worthwhile

Couldn't one just overclock a 1.6ghz and they would be the same computer sans superdrive?

helluva lot.

it makes a direct connection with the speed of ram.

PC3200 Ram has a 400mhz speed
with the bus speed only at 133mhz.

the ram is being bottlenecked.
might aswell have pc2200 for example.

note: this was an answer to the question about bus speeds

Err... I would like to point out that while your bus may not be able to use the ram to its full, DMA based devices (Hard drive, CDrom, Graphic cards... etc...) all enjoy the extra ram speed.

no sig, how's that for being a rebel!

Is this speculation or a rumor?

Moving to Apple Products and merging with your 1.6 v 1.8 thread since I strongly suspect they're looking for the same answer...
