That's old... Apple put in place a replacement policy a long time ago and it doesn't cost anywhere near $250 + shipping. You might have called to ask about their policy before posting this FUD.

Get a life, twit.

Wow, roc, you're being an asshole. He's just asking if it's true, not saying that it is. How is that "posting FUD"?

Sorry guys, thanks for the fast feedback
I was looking at all the video on that site - SOME VERY FUNNY SHIT and I saw that and I just gad to ask. I figured this was the best place to ask about if it was true or not.

there are a lot of other websites that offer to replace the battery for a lot less. I think apple does it for 99 bucks now. However, these other websites do it for a lot less, like 50 bucks.

Ummm, everyone? This video is really, really old. Like, over a year old. Here's a link that mentions that it came out in September 2003. I think I remember first seeing it around November '03, which was a while ago. Even if the 18 months thing was true then, it isn't any more.

Definitely read http://www.ipodbatteryfaq.com/ for more *accurate* information, including links to low-priced batteries.

I guess in internet time REALLY, REALLY OLD is like, over a year old. For me it doesn't seem that long ago I have got to spend more time keeping up with the bleeding edge of technology, goodness if I fall behind even a week or two YIKES, I might as well throw everything out and start over LOL

"Old" in Internet time is probably one or two months, I'd say. "Really, really old" is more like six months. "Get out from under your rock and discover the wonderful things technology can do for you. You see, there are things called computers now and they're really cool!" would be a year.

So I guess the two new G4 powerbooks are out of date and using iChat video conferencing with full motion video and sound over broadband. To talk to my buddy in Austria and wave to his wife and kids is just old news

Whew man its hard getting old, now where did I put that used light saber
