Just about to make the switch from the PC. Having trouble getting good beta on the best way to get internet access on the move. I travel the western states, can I use a cell phone as a modem, which carrier and phone would be best (the 12" will work for this)? Would the speed be agonizingly slow? Go with the 15" and use the card slot (pmcia?) on the side. Which carrier would be a good choice going this way.

Any other ideas would be greatly appreciated!

With the PC it was easy but as soon as you say Apple to the phone companies the look at you with a blank stare and suggest the grocery store.

Thankx

I've had good experiences with Verizon and data. This page gave me all the info I needed to know back in 2002 when I got my v60...

The same info (with some small updates) still works with my v710 (which I don't recommend... do a google)

There are plenty of options tho.

Either computer will do what you want. Both have bluetooth built-in, so you should definitely go with a bluetooth phone (that pretty much rules out verizon since they adamantly refuse to have decent phones). If you get a High-Speed EDGE phone, you'll be pleased with the speed of the connection. Cingular has several phones that do that.
