I was thinking it'd be Lion. The names seem to be getting progressively more badass, and the natural progression would have been from Tiger to Lion...but maybe they want to make more than one more version of OS X, and they want to save Lions for last. King of the Felines and all.

Because Leopard don't change there spots..meaning OSX will still be OSX on intel chips in 2007.

My guess is that Apple will save "Lion" for the last of the "Big Cat" versions so that would be like 10.9. any Zoologists (sp?) around that might be able to shead more light in to more of the "subtle" and "hidden" things this might indacate. there is usualy more to a name than appers. back in the day Redhat played a game with the "code names" where there was some relation betweene version x and y and then y and z.
the CO i work for us using "sailfish" in the past MicroSoft (r) used cities and now an anamal I am guessing it should have been called "DoDo" or "tree sloth" 12" PowerBook (1.5Ghz 512 meg combo) 3g iPod (15 gig) |

Yeah, but any of us dumb sumbitches don't know that.
I figure leopard, lion, lynx (lots of "L" cats out there) all have a good shot (we know "leopard" does, of course). There's enough big kitty types out there...we shouldn't have to worry about it. |

How about Liger? Those cross-bred Lion/Tiger cats? That would be kinda cool.

::cough:: Ligers, because of their genetic makeup, are sterile and have lots of health problems. Not the best image to send.

And? It sounds cool, and they look cool. That's all that matters to marketing, you think they EVER look at reality? Anyhow, maybe that would be fairly appropriate with all the other stuff that is going on, anyhow.

OS X Sabretooth would be badass if you excuse the fact that it is an extinct animal

Since the Lion is the King of the Jungle, then maybe it will be used for the final version of Mac OS X. |
