A few weeks ago I had my computer (a PC and other stuff) stolen and now I am l left with a couple of questions.
First, Im hoping to replace the computer with a new iBook and I am wondering, will the iPod have to be formatted, thus losing my music? Second, seeing as a lot of the music on there was ripped from CD's long since broken, "borrowed" by friends and outright stolen, I was wondering if there is a more elegant solution than using an app like CopyPod that just copies off the music just to be reloaded again. Am I faced with using an app such as Copypod (is there anything better?) to copy everything onto the new iBook, formatting the iPod, building the Itune database and uploading all the music again? Id appreciate any advice! |

I think I had an app called Pod2Mac. I've got another one called Senuti, and yet one more called PodWorks. Also, I've got a couple scripts that run in iTunes that copy tracks from the iPod (I think.. it's been a while). When you do all of this, it's just a matter of copying files, and the applications (both the iPod hack apps and iTunes) do most of the copying work for you. Pretty much the only thing that will need your attention is creating playlists again. |
