Ok, I am getting very frustrated by everyone else getting their new Quads. . .meantime, I ordered mine fully boated with 4 x 1 GB sticks and 2 500 GB drives the first 10 minutes they were available on the Apple Store, only to see my order slip from 11/17/05 to 12/5/05 while others have received theirs. And that's with the standard 6600!!!
I am thinking of revising my order now and adding the 'extra' stuff from third parties. I have the following quesitons:
1. What is the 500 GB SATA drive coming with the new Quad? I see two manufactures:
Seagate Barracuda 7200.9 500GB Hard Drive
Serial ATA-300, 7200 RPM, 16MB
Seagate - ST3500641AS
Hitachi 500GB Hard Drive
Serial ATA II, 7200 RPM, 16MB
Hitachi - 0A31619
Does any one know which one I should order? The Hatachi is slightly cheaper but I do not know the difference between ATA-300 and ATA II. Which does the Quad need?
The cost of upgrading to two 500 GBs on the Apple store is $875 but it looks like I can buy 2 500 GB drives from Pricegrabber for about $720, saving $150.
2. Memory. I see Monarch is advertising 2 x 1 GB sticks for $179, so 4 x 1 GB would cost about $360 versus the $700 Apple Store wants. This is hte link to the product--is this the right memory?

(I missed the rebate. . .)
Any purchasing advise is greatly appreciated.
