i need to get 512MB ram for my brothers 12inch powerbook (1.33ghz)

I found 512 on crucial for 101$
anyone know where i can find ram for even cheaper?
thanks
Crucial.com
It's all you need to know. You may find some generic brand cheaper but Crucial is known for making quality chips and standing behind their product. Definitely the best value out there I'd say.
$101 from Crucial is going to have to be good enough. Normally I would check NewEgg.com to see if they're selling Crucial RAM for less than they sell it for on their own corporate website, but NewEgg's 512 MB Crucial is $109.
On the other hand, you could get SimpleTech (http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=20-150-335&depa=0) or Kingmax (http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=20-155-122&depa=0) RAM for about $10 less. They're not "premium" brands like Crucial is, but I've had good luck with them anyway.
i guess will stick would crucial. i didn't know is was a good brand. they are offering free shipping also which is gonna save me a few bucks.
thanks
You can also try Datamem (http://www.datamem.com) and Memory-X (http://www.memory-x.net).
Those are B-Level suppliers at best, and I'd definitely avoid them both.

Just another word about Crucial. I have never had a problem with them or a product bought from them. I use them all the time when upgrading my machine or when helping a family member with upgrades. I was so impressed with them that I filled out a customer service feedback form. (I orderd my memory at 1am. It was shipped by 12pm, and I had it by 8am next day. Standard shipping.) Not only did a customer service representative call me regarding my feedback I also recieved several online discounts towards my next purchases. I don't know if this is out of the ordinary but I was VERY impressed. They will continue to have my business, even if I occasionally have to pay $5 more. :)
I've bought from Datamem and Memory-X on many different occassions, and their products have always been flawless. Their prices are good, they ship quickly and have great customer support. I really would not have recommended them if I thought they were "b-level" in any way at all. Hell, Memory-X owns the domain welovemacs.com, they know exactly what they're doing when it comes to RAM for Macs. So, my recommendation still stands. :)
