Hi,
After owning my powerbook for 2years my battery has suddenly lost and will not hold charge.
I am aware that apple does not make battery's for the titanium powerbooks anymore.
Does anyone have any suggestions for any 3rd party battery's that will suit my powerbook??

Thanks,
Bentley:confused:

Welcome, bentley. :)

NewerTech (http://www.newertech.com/) makes batteries for all of the G3 and G4 PowerBooks (and iBooks) including the titanium model. NewerTech's batteries even have higher power ratings meaning they should hold their charge longer:

This battery is compatible with the following Apple PowerBook G4 Systems:

PowerBook G4 - 400MHz - 500MHz
PowerBook G4 "Gigabit Ethernet" 550MHz / 667Mhz
PowerBook G4 "DVI" 667MHz / 800MHz
PowerBook G4 "(1GHz/867MHz)" 867MHz / 1GHz

I'm in the same boat as bentley (although I knew where I could buy the battery replacements) ... but I want to *bump* this thread to ask 2 questions:

1) How many TiPB owners on these forums have replaced their battery?
2) What did they do with the old battery?

(TIA - I'll give this a day or two ... if no responses, then I'll start a new thread.)

You should take the battery to your local waste/recycling center. The battery should not be tossed in the garbage because it contains harmful, toxic chemicals and elements that can leach out into the groundwater.

It's easiest just to hold onto your old batteries and take a trip every few months.
