My kids PB 12" bombed. Had to replace harddrive. In order to get the music off their iPods and back to their individual Music libraries, I understand iTunes will not do a backward restore, but that there are some third party applications that can accomplish this.

Does any one have any recommendations and direct experience so that you can point me to one that is easy to use?

I've never used it myself, but this (http://macupdate.com/info.php/id/7546) always seems to get positive feedback when this comes up. It sounds like exactly what you're looking for.

I've used Senuti myself ("iTunes" spelled backwards) with success.

Yeah, I often hear that Senuti is a good solution.

I've always had a hard time remembering its name though (Seguda? Suneto?), so BarracksSi gets five brownie points* for finally uncovering the puzzle of its name. iTunes backwards. D'oh! :)

*) Starting with 100 points, you win as many washing machines as you can carry home. Good luck!

I've used Senuti myself ("iTunes" spelled backwards) with success.

Used both Senuti and iPod.iTunes and found the latter did not work that well. Senuti was awesome.

Thank you,.

I have also used Senuti when my 12" PowerBook's hard drive crashed. I echo the glowing reviews.
