View Full Version : Anyone here have experience with...
... building, say, a Flash client that allowed people to participate in a chat room? If you do, email me or PM me.

Well... no. In fact, I'm not even sure what this "chat room" thing is. Would it involve some kind of linked communication system? Maybe one on a grand scale even... hmm, you may be onto something big Locash.
Well, it's been done before. I mean, I've played Flash games online that had chat rooms where you could talk before playing a game with someone.
All I want to do is be able to have a bunch of people login to a chat server through a flash application. I don't have a problem building the back end, I just don't have that much experience with Flash.
Yeah...can someone build one for me too? It would be awesome. :D

Avatar-based chat built using Shockwave. (Could be reworked for Flash).
I know the developer. If you're interested in licensing, I can probably put in a good word.
Coolest Flash chat guestbook I've ever seen is the Lunarbook (http://lunarmedia.com/projects/lunarbook/). Fun!
Well, we're looking at not spending any money on it... so if he wanted to license it for free, maybe :)
I've done some Flash development like that before, but we were running it through a Flash Communications Server. Definitely not free.
