I'm thinking about one of these (http://eshop.macsales.com/item/Other%20World%20Computing/MAU8F7300GB8/). I know I could probably build my own for less money, but jeez, the enclosure is so cool. It would go great with my PM G5. The two-year warranty also seems pretty good, for an external drive. Any experiences, good or bad, with the OWC products? Thanks!

I've had only positive experiences with OWC. I recently purchased a 1GB RAM chip for my Powerbook (works great) and their dual-RAID enclosure. That being said, the HD enclosure came with no printed manual and I needed to call tech support to set everything up. Just make sure you set one drive to MASTER and the other to SLAVE, CS mode won't work. Its very fast, and very slick looking. Would buy again.

I'll add in a vouch for OWC...I've got one of the duals as well and love it.

UncleJohn, you do know you can buy (http://eshop.macsales.com/item/Other%20World%20Computing/MEFW912UAL1K/) the enclosure without a drive, right? You might save a bit a cash and still get the setup you want. FWIW, if you don't mind dealing with rebate hassles, CompUSA has a 300GB Seagate drive right now for $99.99 (http://dealmac.com/deals/Seagate-Barracuda-300-GB-IDE-Hard-Drive-for-100-after-rebates/112011.html) after rebate. I've got a pile of these drives as well, and they're very nice. :)

Yes, I had seen that you could buy the enclosure separately. But at $119, plus $99 for the drive, plus the rebate hassle (I do mind), it hardly seems worth the trouble. But then, there is that 5 year warranty on the Seagate purchased by itself. Hmm...
