I am looking for a high-quality way to stream music wirelessly to my stereo, and I wanted to know what the squeezebox does that is worth $180 more than the Airport Express. I see that it has more connections and a display, but I only really need the audio-out, which both systems have. Sound quality is important, along with iTunes integration and the ability to play Protected ACC formatted songs.

I also use Pandora, which can be used with the Squeezebox, but do you have to pay to use them together??

I don't need the Airport for wireless internet, but I have heard that it can extend your current wireless range. Is this true?

While it would be nice to see what is playing, does the Squeezebox display what is playing on iTunes on the actual display?

Are there any other competitors that I haven't mentioned that would work better?

Your input is greatly appreciated!

An Airport Express can act as a bridge if you are using an Extreme as the primary base station.

Other than this reason, you've pretty much seem to have made up your mind.

Actually I am still very much up in the air, since I have a pretty low budget..

I have a Belkin wireless router, can the Express act as a bridge for it too?

I read up some more about the Squeezebox in this very informative article (http://www.silentpcreview.com/article287-page1.html), so I know all of the important features of it.

My real question is how the Express stacks up to the Squeezebox performance-wise. Is it a better value?

Not being able to hear either one, I would like to know from someone who owns one of the products, and what they personally think of it.

OK, I've got a new question, should I buy the Squeezebox 2 or 3?

Squeezebox 2:

Squeezbox 3:

They both have similar specs, but I want to know if anyone out there who owns either one has an opinion otherwise...

I might be beating a dead horse here. :o

I would personally use the Squeezebox if not solely for the internet radio feature. Your computer doesn't even have to be on.
