Hi own a POWER MAC G5 QUAD and i was wondering if the MAXTOR 6V300F0 works with my machine.

I ask for this since I can get the 300 gb SATA II maxtor 6V300F0 for less that 130 dollars

The only problem I found is that in the description says the following

300GB Maxtor DiamondMax 10 7200RPM 3.0Gb SATA II Hard Drive with 16MB Data Buffer. High performance for any G5 or Mac with a SATA PCI Card, PC with SATA! New, 3 Year Maxtor Warranty. (MAX6V300F0)

Is it going to work in my QUAD??

Thanks

Ebby

That is fine. I believe the Powermacs use SATA I, not II but that should be backwards compatible. Just means the drive is a little faster than the computer interface.

EDIT: Changed "Posermacs" to "Powermacs". Completely unintentional.

I mean is 130 in the store (tax included -in my country the tax is called IVA just like in Spain). Not on the internet.
