I have a TiBook 500, running 10.3.5, I have Comcast internet and am using a dual ethernet ABS. I would like to set up my computer to serve some stuff with Quicktime streaming server, and maybe Apache. I set up an account at DynDNS.org to get around my dynamic IP, but I have some other problems. First, I'm using the DNSUpdate client to keep my IP updated at DynDNS, but when it sends my IP it sends my local IP (10.0.1.2, or whatever it is). Is there a way to get it to send the ABS's IP? Also, assuming I can get that to work, I could use a little help with port mapping. I don't really know much (if anything) about it. For instance, what port does QTSS use? I couldn't find that anywhere, except if you set it to 80, which I don't necessarily want to do, because I don't want it getting in the way of a web server, should I choose to set that up. I think those are all my questions for the moment. I'm sure I'll have more later.

do a port scan on yourself
useful page (http://www.iana.org/assignments/port-numbers)
useful search (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&q=+site:www.apple.com+quicktime+streaming+server+p ort)
the port number depends on how you set up RTSP. Take a look around the QTSS options for streaming ports... they should be either 554 or 7070 but I think you can manually change it as well... but if you do a port scan on yourself it should turn up

appleqtcsrvr 545/tcp appleqtcsrvr
appleqtcsrvr 545/udp appleqtcsrvr

Thanks for the help, on that one, Paul. Other than that, same questions, except now I'm working with a LinkSys Wireless-B router w/ 4port switch
