Can anyone recommend such a book? I am thinking of something that would introduce you to the Teminal, Scripts/Automator and maybe a little XCode or CoreImage or even WebObjects (forgive me if the latter three are maybe too complicated for a layman :o ). . . . For someone who knows a lot about computers in general for a "layman" but hasn't done any programming since learning a little BASIC and LOGO when I was in elementary school and junior high.

Anyone recommend anything??

ADMINS -- I meant to put this in General Discussion; please move it there if you think it should be there (as I thought).

Actually, I'm just going to close this and point you to some existing relevant threads in the Programmers Nook forum. ;)

Worth learning 10.4 XCode? (http://forums.applenova.com/showthread.php?t=2122)
What language to learn (computer of course) (http://forums.applenova.com/showthread.php?t=4492)
Learning Cocoa? (http://forums.applenova.com/showthread.php?t=11354)

If you still want to start a new thread about this subject, the Programmers Nook forum would be the place to do it.
