Ipod now?

There has been some rumor about a new ipod coming out some time in April. It hasn't happened. Should I buy an iPod now or wait?

A new iPod is never more than a few months away, judging by previous experience. If you keep on waiting for a new one, you'll never buy one, ever.

However, if video is a feature that you'd use frequently, it may be wise to wait. If you plan on using it just for music, then go ahead, buy one now.

I second the recommendation on buying the current gen ipod if its main purpose will be music playback; I have the 30gb version and it just plain rocks me back on my heels all the time i use it :)

With the next ipod launch somewhere in Q4, i'm getting mine next month.. the very first week of May and sell it in ebay once the new ipod comes out. Can't wait no more

Who says the next iPod will launch in Q4? I'm sure something will happen to the iPod before the 6G iPod comes out...the 60GB iPod is on that new product alert list, after all.

Nobody's delayed anything. As far as Apple have said, there is NO new iPod - no product announcement, no release date. It's impossible to delay something like that.

That's right, if you read from what they are saying.. basically it's being delayed. And neiltc13, even if i'm wrong about whether its delayed or not, this's just a forum so I need not be 100% accurate in what I say. Chill men

My point was really that Apple don't have to work to any schedule. After all, Think Secret have been wrong on many occasions in the past and it is for this reason that I never base any purchasing decision on rumour or speculation.

thinksecret just posted an article saying that the 60 gb will be updated within 60 days and that the real video ipod will be out sometime before the holidays. do you think the 5gs will get a battery update or something like that soon? i plan to get a 30 gb ipod and will mostly use it for music. still, it would suck if i bought it and then they upgrade the battery.

Well we can always get the ipod now and sell it in ebay if there's an update? just a suggestion.. :p
