I am planning on buying a DVD burner with Double Layer capabilities and possibly LightScribe.

I found this: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=7684936&type=product&id=1134703573567
but it is not for Macs. It should work on XP using Boot Camp right? Is there any other types out there somewhat equivalent to the one on the link that will work for macs?

Here's a good one:

You'll see it comes with the full version of TOAST 7 bundled with it. The price is $80.00 more than the one shown on your link, but this is the manufacturer's own site; if you shop around, you can probably find it closer in price to the one you linked to. If you already have TOAST, I think you can buy this same model without it already bundled, and it will be a little cheaper.

and i think toast is the only way to have lightscribe compatibility in os x.

here (http://www.cdrinfo.com/Sections/Reviews/Specific.aspx?ArticleId=13449) is a comparitive of different lightscribe burners. i don't know what machine you are using but the cheapest way to go would be to buy it OEM and replace the one in your machine... ?

I have this DL-DVD-RW (though it was $20 more when I bought it from the Apple store) and it's worked well for me. LaCie was nice enough to include an extra firewire port on the back so you can add it to your firewire daisy chain.

I didn't mention that I have the Lacie superdrive myself...although I have the one without Lightscribe, as I bought mine just before they started marketing that feature.

C'est la vie.

I like the Lacie Drive just fine, and I think it is, by far, the most attractively designed external drive on the market. (Hey, I'm a Mac user...aesthetics ARE important to me!)

Thanks for the suggestions. I think that Lacie one is perfect!
