So I just placed my order for a 15 inch MBP.

I'm going to wait to carry it around, take it places, take it to class, etc.

I need a good MBP carrying case. Maybe a backpack type of thing with a place for it.

Any suggestions? Your help is greatly appreciated. Thanks. :)

If your willing to spend some money, check this site out.

That bag looks fugly IMO. There was a read backpack on the Apple Store that folded out and was made from semi-firm materials - that looked ace and was about the same price. It also didn't look like a Laptop case, which for me is essential in a laptop carrier :)

I still dont get how a bag like this could be called ugly

I think spikeh didnt explore the site. the site i put down earlier was just their home page at the time cause they show off different bags. spikeh check this one out and then check the rest of the site out and you'll see how awesome they look.

Oh yea, right below the picture on the right side, there are left and right buttons so you can see what the bag looks like on the inside and how much it can hold.

i got LeBag 15" (http://www.be-ez.com/prod_bag15.html) from be.ez in orange and black. i'm really very happy with it, it's very sturdy, been lugged around a lot and it's still in great shape. the front pocket is well thought out and and has all the pockets i need. the straps also cover the zipper so when i'm in public transport i don't have to even worry that any curious hands start searching inside ;) and it really is rain proof, no qualms there.

the only gripe is that it's a little hot on the back when carrying it around in summer.

I looked, I looked! :) I was drunk on early morningness, so sounded harsher than I intended, but I still don't really like it - it looks very Space 2001 to me :(

This is more my scene: http://www.axio-usa.com/html/p10.html (and is the one I vaguely refered to earlier on today).

I'm leaning more towards this now:

what do you think? And its advertised specifically for the 15 inch MBP.

the first image is what brassguy just linked us to and the second image is what I linked to the second time. The difference?

well the amazon one is almost $40 cheaper than that one.

I'll have to look in their features, etc.

I just bought the Kensington 15" Contour Pro Leather (http://us.kensington.com/html/4729.html), and it should be arriving any day now. I'd REALLY love the Booq 2006 Boa XM system, but that is more than I can afford at this point. I bought the Kensington on eBay for less than half it's MSRP of $140.

When I was researching which bag to get, I ended up with a very large list of manufacturers, product reviews and the like. Is that something anyone besides me would find helpful? If so, I'll format it and put it on my website.

the build quality of the BooqBags is as good as it gets in a bag.... zippers will work flawlessly for a lifetime and it won't tear.... very very well made bags

Obligatory Timbuk2 link (http://www.timbuk2.com/tb2/retail/catalog.htm).I just bought a Timbuk2 Laptop Messenger, and this thing is great. I've filled it with textbooks to the point where I can hear it creaking and it was still easy to carry. It probably wasn't great for the bag, though.

Unfortunately, the laptop compartment doesn't fit a 15" MacBook Pro. It's too wide. A 15" PowerBook will fit, but not an MPB. I could be wrong, though.

Perhaps a Timbuk2 bag and additional laptop sleeve would work for you? It's a great bag, and I'm bummed that in two years when I sell my PowerBook and get a MacBook Pro for college it won't fit. Either I have to go with 13" MacBook and bring along an external LCD or sell this bag to get a new one that has a laptop compartment that can hold a 15" MacBook Pro. :\

(BTW, the Timbuk2 bag has pockets for *everything*!)

I ended up buying "Synergy" from SwissGear by Wenger.

I saw this in an Apple store and examined it. It seems very functional and cool.
Apple was selling it for $89.95 plus tax.

I found it on Amazon for $60.49 free 2 day shipping and no tax.
It has a lot of positive reviews too.

Wow they've lowered the price like another $3 since I ordered it!

Thank you all for your advice and suggestions.

I love their LeRobe cases! I want one in lime. Too bad they aren't available in America yet...

My little business will be buying me a notebook soon. I'll push for a macbook pro :)

I'm interested in the Eclipse (http://www.radtech.us/Products/Backpacks.aspx#Eclipse). Just wondering... It says "Laptop section suitable for displays up to 15.5". Are they talking about a 16:10 or a tradionnal 4:3 ? Do you think this could be a nice deal for a MBP backpack ?
