I need to replace my HP iPAQ h5555 PDA. I tried using PocketMac software to sync the HP to my iMac with bad results. I will not use PocketMac again. My iMac is just over a year old and I am not able to purchase an Intel based Mac at this time.
Should I purchase another iPAQ or windows based product and try the Missing Sync for syncing or purchase a Palm based PDA??? I am also considering purchasing a smart phone/PDA. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I would take a look at some Symbian Series60 smartphones (mostly made by Nokia). Almost all of them sync just with iSync, and tend to be very good phones. What cell phone carrier do you have, though? That impacts the variety of your choices a lot.

I have Cingular - at this point because Apple has not come out with their own device - I may just purchase a new PDA and hope that Apple comes out with something spectacular. This way I would not have monthly service fees.

The Missing Sync is a MUCH better program than PM. Make sure you uninstall PM before installing the Missing Sync. It'll work much better. There are 2 reasons I always end up going back to a PPC after having a Palm - 1) Pocket Informant and 2) The Missing Sync for WM is SO MUCH BETTER than any Palm sync software. I've even tried it with WM5 and it works fine.

Thanks for the info. - Don't worry PM is long gone now. I really don't like the Palm products that I have looked at.

Well, if you want "THE BESTEST POCKETPC EVARS" I'd say the Dell Axim X51v is the hands down winner.
624mhz ARM
16mb 3D graphics accelerator
Wi-Fi, Bluetooth
640x480 (VGA) display (Twice the resolution of the iPod Video)
Windows Mobile 2005
And I believe it's under $400
Just to name a few of the features. :)
The only downside is WIndows Mobile.. :Pukey Smiley:
But then Palm teh suck too. Shame, because the treos are nice phones.
