I'm considering getting either a new Mac Pro (2.66 GHz, 2gig RAM, X1900XT), but i haven't decided wether it would be best for me to get a new machine or not. Whatever machine i get though, i'll be putting in an Aja or Blackmagic card and an external SATA RAID so the machine's cost is quite an important factor as i'll have to add quite a hefty additional investment.
I know someone who is going to be selling his G5 2x2GHz at the end of the year to get a Mac Pro. i don't know what price he is going to be asking for it though so i wanted to know what your estimates would be. Here is the config :
Powermac G5 dual 2 GHz processor
ATI Radeon X800XT
2 gig RAM
pioneer 108D to replace the combo drive
WD 74 gig 10K rpm Raptor
250 gig HD.
i don't know wether this is the PCI-X version or not...
Would 2000 € be fair ?
