I was looking to buy something to protect the palm rest on my macbook, and was wondering what had worked for other people.

I've seen the following online, but wasn't sure what was best:
http://www.powersupportusa.com/products/macbook-wrtp.php
http://www.macessity.com/proddetail.php?prod=KBCOVERMB
http://www.shieldzone.com/item_description/APPMCBS.html

http://www.ava.com.sg/mac_softpads.html

Obviously, durable would be great...and not holding in too much heat.

try looking at the iLap too... that thing looks like the business for desk or lap use

The iLap has nothing to do with what he's asking about. Suggesting that is like telling somebody looking for advice on a car to go buy some waffles.

I've heard some great things about the Marware kit, myself. I've actually been thinking about buying it for my MacBook.

well i use isaver (http://www.i-stuff.de/index_e.htm) for my MBP to protect my screen from the keyboard as well as a palm rest (just fold it in to half and fits perfectly). Of course it covers the touch pad. But that's not a problem for me since I use an external mouse all the time. But then again, you might not prefer the same.

sorry to hijack the thread, but it seemed like a good opportunity. I've got a similar palm rest by macally. Do you find it a little more difficult to close the MBP after installing the product?? I find that I have to press down on it to make it close instead of just softly letting it close like I did before

If you're looking for a "lo-fi" solution, you can try using transparent adhesive plastic sheeting that you can find sold as rolls in stationary and office supply stores - they're sold as removable covers for textbooks and the like.
