i have some .mpg files on a dvd

nothing will play them

quicktime, msplayer, realplayer, dvd player

what do i need to run/add to play these files

(they are medical images, video...the people who sent them to me said they played fine on their two computers...i can't get them to run on any of our macs or pcs here...help)
