I just saw the most recent member title for M'tosh and it cracked me up!

I understand that when you get to 1000 posts you can change your member title - what will happen then?

I don't think I can trust M'tosh to continue the tradition and provide such opportunities for *surprise and delight*. ;)

I understand that when you get to 1000 posts you can change your member title - what will happen then? What happens after you reach 1000 posts and can change your title? Well, you can change your title, that's what! :p

If people abuse this privilege, though, it will be revoked.

Yeah, but will (and I'm not exactly sure if either of these two are responsible for doing it) LoCash or murbot still drop in the occasional member title to keep the fun alive?

No offense M'tosh when you get to reading these posts. I just find your various member titles amusing to read.

Admins can always change a user's member title. So even if he changed it back to Mr. Smooth, I'd change it back to Messiahtard. And remember... I share because I care. I live to give! In fact, if there is anything, just one single thing, that I have been guilty of... it's caring.... caring TOO much.

I took him off my ignore list to see his fall pictures. But that "dog" (poodles are not real dogs) kinda scared me away. We'll see how long it takes before I have to ask vB to filter out his posts again. ;)

Argh. These chuckleheads keep changing everything. Apparently it's not enough to mess with my user title, they also have to mess with my profile picture.

We all had Slapshot related titles... until the geeks got tired of having an athletic spin on their username, and changed them all.

Like, yeah. I just loooove my new username. Thanks boys.

I think we have an unwritten rule about changing our own titles, too (admins/mods I mean).

Woah, like, massive bump.

Well, a couple of months ago, I reached 1,000 posts, and I was able to change it. (Even though I opted not to.)

Are you sure you can't?

1) Go to the User CP (http://forums.applenova.com/usercp.php).
2) Edit your Profile (http://forums.applenova.com/profile.php?do=editprofile).
3) In "Optional Information - All information will be viewable by other forum members.", you should find "Custom User Title" as the first section, right above "Date of Birth".
4) Type a title in.
5) Make sure "Reset" is not checked (just mentioning it since someone made this mistake)
6) Submit.

Yeah, there's an automated script that will run to update your status. Wait a day or two. If it's still not working, let me know.

Brad
2006-01-18, 22:48
Bryson, InactionMan, et al,

This is a known issue. You were both automatically added to the "custom titles" group immediately as you entered your 1000th post. However, you need to temporarily disable your membership to other optional usergroups in order for the "custom titles" modification to take precedence. After changing your title, you can switch back on the optional usergroups.

Cheers,
Brad

So I just looked at my profile and saw I had hit 1,000. I've been a member over a year, and have a positive reputation (No reds that I can see, I'm not sure what clear is). My default title changed to Veteran Member, but I don't have an option to change it. Am I missing it somewhere in User CP?

I'm seeing that the option is enabled for your account.

You change the title on the Edit Profile (http://forums.applenova.com/profile.php?do=editprofile) page under "Optional Information" and "Custom User Title".
