My gnet dsl modem died on my again today, it's my fourth gnet modem to died in 3 years. Gnet gives a lifetime warranty on parts, but wants about $20.00 to fix my modem (I have two broken ones sitting here). Plus either shipping or driving about an hour (each way) two times, since they do not want to make an exchange. So needless to say I don't feel like having either one on my modems fixed... Just to have it break in a few months again.
Anyway I found a cheap modem:
2Wire 2700HG ADSL DSL Modem Wireless G Router Firewall (Refurbished)
Does anyone know anything about this modem or do you have one? It's only $23.00 plus tax.
Or I found a used Efficient Networks Speedstream 5360 for $30.00
I know that the speedstream modems are the ones used by bell canada. I've had one of these in the past, it was rented from bell, but the isp i'm with doesn't rent any modems.
Right now I borrowed my friends dsl modem to make sure it was the problem, it's also a speedstream but I have to give it back to her tomorrow... any advice?
