I think I have decided on the 360. As stated I have a 1080p Sharp lcd. Should I wait for the elite or go with the pro. I know the elite has hdmi and larger hd. I don't care about the hd. I think my tv does do 1080 thru component. Any comments?

The 360 doesn't do 1080p through component. You need to use VGA on the Pro model or HDMI on the Elite model. If your TV has a VGA input, you can save some cash and buy the Pro. Hell, you could buy the Core model and a VGA cable if you wanted (although the 360 is a sub-par experience without the hard drive).

Only if a particular title supports it. Each game supports different resolutions. No game released before the firmware update (AFAIK) plays at 1080p. However, future games can support it. There are already a few in the pipeline, and I guarantee Halo 3 will support it.
I would just spend $120 more and get a Blu-ray player, but that's just me. I don't want to turn this into a PS3-vs.-360 thread.

The elite does not use the new CPU, according to Microsoft. Units using it won't be available until later this year.

I'm getting the elite after the price drop which will likely be this winter. I decided to go with the 360 because of the games. The PS3 has no exclusives that challenge any of the 360's. Games coming out for the 360 this year include: Too Human, Bioshock, GTA 4 (not exc), Mass Effect, Halo 3, Devil May Cry 4 (not exc), Shadowrun, C&C 3, Two Worlds, Blue dragon, Elveon, UT3 (not exc), Lost Odyssey, Alan Wake. Some that I mentioned are also coming out on PC. Now give me some PS3 games for this year...
[edit] exc = all i could find are Lair, Heavenly Sword, MGS4. not exc = GTA 4, DMC 4, UT3.

Well after playing it, I will probably end up buying one next weekend. Going from regular Xbox to this made a huge difference in playing Halo 2. Looks MUCH better and feels better as well. I highly recommend it.
I feel like it's bullshit what Microsoft did to us early adapters of the 360. I enjoy my 360 and I was one of the first to get it in the preorder, but mine doesnt have HDMI and that is the only way my Sony tv will receive 1080p. Im slightly bitter about the situation, especially since I bought the HD-DVD add-on.

I know that. It's an obvious. Premium 360s' are currently still $400 where I live and for $80 more I rather get the elite for extra space and for my future tv purchase with HDMI. I also get a headset and free month of live. I am glad I did not get the Premium 360 months ago or when it came out.

Will someone help me out?
I'm now debating on whether or not to get a 360 or upgrade my computer. Some of the games coming out for 360 are:
Too Human, GTA 4 (not exc), Mass Effect, Halo 3, Blue dragon, Lost Odyssey, Alan Wake, Eternal Sonata.
Some PC games coming out are: Crysis, Hellgate: London, half life 2, universe at war, Company of Heroes: opposing front, Neverwinter Nights 2: Mask of the Betrayer, The witcher
Some games for both: Two worlds, Unreal Tournament 3, Bioshock.
Should I upgrade or go with the 360 this fall?

You need to set up port forwarding to your 360 to get NAT working right.

What's your router's model number? Typically, there's a web interface to your router's settings. In there, there should be a place where you define what ports you want open and what IP address (e.g., the 360's IP) you want to handle traffic for that port.
