The "R" key on my MacBook Pros keyboard fell off, where can I purchase a new one? Thanks for any help!

It should be covered under warranty. If not, I believe it uses the same keys as the PowerBooks did.

Yeah, that should definitely be covered. Contact Apple!

On a lighter note, I was really hoping your post would've looked like this:

Oh well.

I am out of warranty now! Are there any websites that carry keys?

That would have been funny pscates! But I can still hit the little rubber piece where the key once was!

Can't you just snap it back on? I took all the keys off my PowerBook a while back to clean the keyboard. They're kind of a pain to get off, but snap right back on.

One of the little clips that keeps it on broke off, I'm not really sure how it happened, oh well.

I wonder why the "R" key?

Obviously someone has a secret life on the high seas. ARRRRR!

Dammit, somebody beat me to the requisite you'll-be-a-horrible-pirate-now joke. :(

Nope, this is not true. PB keyboards and MBP keyboards are slightly different. At least this is what the genius bar guy told me when they had to replace my keyboard.

As I understand it, this is a pretty common Genius Bar occurrence, so I'd advise the original poster to try that first. They won't charge you for it if they have an extra "R" key.

Incidentally, I had something stuck under my "." key, and I got it out with some tweezers just pulling the key up - those things can bend pretty far up without coming off.

Yea try Genius Bar. I remember several stories where they replaced keys for free.

Ditto. Trying to buy one will likely set you back $10 between the key (a 2-cent part I've seen selling for $3 to $5) and shipping, but I've had keys replaced for free at the Apple store.
