Is it the time of purchase, or the time of shipment? And is the policy different for pre-order products?

I believe they only charge your credit card when they are about to ship it.

Right. Taxes and all are calculated in that final invoice... At least, that's how it worked for me here in canada.

Apple has charged my account on a saturday, which I found interesting as it's not a business day.

You know how your invoice tells you your "Ships By" date, my order was meant to ship by today at the latest (Monday). I thought Apple were pretty precise with ship and deliver by dates.... But nevertheless they've charged my account and not yet shipped my order. I'll edit when something changes.

I thinks it was the same for me. They billed like the day before shipping...

What did you buy ? :)

The new MBP and Airport. I'm not worried, just thought it was interesting being billed on a weekend and Apple missing their ship by dates.

It will probably ship tomorrow...
