Good time for a new 17" MBP?

Hi all,

I'm trying to decided if I should get a new 17" MBP, and since I am dithering about it I figured I would ask for some advice.

Here is my situation: I am currently using a 17" MBP with a 2.16 intel core duo, 2gig ram, and 100GB 7200 rpm hd. My MBP is only about 11 months old and I did not get extended applecare when I purchased it (I usually wait awhile to buy applecare to spread the cost out a bit). Now, I was about to plunk down the $350 for applecare, but then I started thinking that it would not cost me that much more to just sell my current 17" MBP and get the latest module...

Am I just letting my natural desire to have the latest and greatest tech sway me, or is a reasonable choice to go for a new 17" MBP?

Sounds like you currently have a very nice machine, but who am I to try to dissuade you. If you can sell the current one for a good price, why not? Go for it!

If it's gonna cost you the same (or really close) then I would get the new one, but that's me.
