I am tired of waiting and I have computed by final price for the mbp. If any of you know of any other discounts, please post on this thread.

Base Model MBP(student): +1800
Reselling free Ipod: - 170
Reselling free printer: - 50
Apple Discount Code: -30
Tax: +150
Credit Card Cash Rebate: -80

Total: 1620

I have already considered the ADC discount but with the free ipod offered to students, the ADC scenario will come out to be more.

Advice anybody?

I´ll be doing the same come early september. Except that I´m gonna be keeping the printer. And I´m also selling the 1gb stick that comes with the MBP, because I´maxing it out to 4gb Ram from OWC. I think with the free printer and free iPod, it´s probably a better deal than the ADC discount.

Just make sure to mail in those rebates!

You might want to wait until the deadline for Sept. I just picked mine up today and they havent loaded ilife 08 on it yet.

I'm pretty sure that there's an Up-To-Date program for computers sold after 8/7 without iLife 08. Usually, it's just the cost of the media plus some handling charge. I think it ends up being like $10 or $20.

I thought i read about that somewhere. Possibly on the Apple Store site.

I just participated in Up-To-Date. They took $10 off the price of the MBP at the retail store, and charged me $9.95 + tax to order iLife '08.

It is $10 for all macs bought on or after the release date without ilife 08. But being that this original thread was made to generate money saving tips, paying $10 for something you shouldn't have to pay for is why I commented in the first place.
