View Full Version : ram question
alright im gonna buy n imac with 2g gig or ram my question is if i buy some extra ram do i buy two more stick of ram or i replace the actual one with two other higher one thx in advence
i love you alll you bye bye
All the iMacs except for the 2.8 GHz one come with a single stick of RAM. There are two slots. So you could add a stick of 2 GB and get 3 GB, but if you want 4 GB, you'll have to replace a stick.
The 2.8 GHz one comes with 2x1 GB. So if you want to upgrade you must replace a stick.
We love you too.
thx for the answer, so if i buy an imac with 2gb of ram i will get one stick of 2gb so that will allow me to buy another stick of 2 gb to have 4 gb
No, if you buy one with 2GB it will have two 1GB sticks. It tells you that right on the Apple spec page when you BTO parts.
