Buy now or wait?
just a quick question.

Wait until later when more updates are released

Wha? The entire line-up was just updated, and another model added! It's extremely unlikely that there'll be more updates soon. In half a year, maybe.

I expect a restructured iPod lineup by mid-October.

No sense wasting money on old technology.

Sooner than that, even. Apple Expo Paris at at the end of the month. There *will* be an updated iPod lineup with BTO iPods all across the board. You'll be able to get a superduperultimate iPod touch with a 4" screen, too.

Like what Steve Jobs said you can never catch up with technology,,,So just buy now~~after the new released there will be another new that you might want to wait for~~~

You should always wait for the next, better thing. The current thing is crap compared to the next thing! Plus! Whoa! The next thing will be cheaper, too!

I always wait to buy. When the new whatever comes out, I wait for the next whatever.

My setup is the sweetest!!!! Well, when the next set of stuff is available, it will be! I have the best Mac... pretty soon. I have the best iPod... right around the corner. You will never have seen anything like it! Someday soon. Oh man. I cannot wait.

I know, seriously! I figure that I could wait for the 64GB iPod touch for $199, but if I've made it that far why not wait for the 128GB iPod touch for $149? But then, why not the 256GB for $99? I mean, it's right around the corner.

I want to wait until I get the best possible bang for the buck. Even if it means waiting a loooooonnnnggg time.

On a serious note: I'd buy one now, but get an iPod Classic instead of the Touch ... the Touch is not a proper iPod (in my opinion ofcourse) :)

the classic is really pretty :) I considered buying one with my rebates from the iphone's but then i realized why have a small screen that can hold everything when you have a large screen that holds what you need. less is more in this case, and i never say that :)

Yeah, so my iPod just broke on me. Well actually, I could get the screen replaced, but why stick with old technology when you have the option of going new? ;)

Here's my iPod:

I've decided that the iPod touch is not really a valid replacement for 60 GB at this point, since I kind of do have to have my old library. I have the option of getting a new 5G iPod 80gb, or getting a new classic 80gb. While the 5G would be, like, $120 cheaper, I – like the rest of you - am a tech geek, and need to have what's newest. Otherwise I'm not satisfied.

And yes, I've even modded my 5G with the split screen firmware, but even that doesn't quite measure up to a classic. So who says classic for me?

The 80GB classic is going to be a lot thinner than the 80GB 5G, too. (It'll be thinner than your 60GB 5G, even.)

I'm not sure if it's $120 thinner, but it is definitely noticeable.

I've never been a fan of the largest iPods. They're just too thick. But now what was the large iPod is now the small iPod classic. (I'm really impressed that they more than doubled the capacity overnight! I wasn't expecting such an improvement.)

I'm more a fan of the iPod touch, but if you want to carry your entire library around with you, it really isn't an option.

It's obviously a call you have to make, but I would probably go with the classic, just for the smaller size and compatibility with newer games. Of course, I've never had any of those high-capacity iPods, anyway. Too big for me.

I've always gone with the high capacity, but 80 gigs will now suffice.
