I seem to remember a time when I could post a simple LOL emoticon or whatnot in response to something humourous...although I just tried this with Brad's 'jackhammer' comment and was swiftly chastised...

Is this new?

If so, me no likey.

I'm obviously not a post-whore or anything like that, but I do like to post a simple smiley every once in a while.

What's the deal?

apparently you suck...cause as you can see, it worked very well for me ;)

Honestly though, I've had it happen to me before, but it was very odd. Odd in that I had way more than 5 characters in the reply but I was still yelled at for having fewer than 5 and was told to go back and edit my post accordingly.

Very funny. :p

But I *can't* post Mr. Grin Guy alone....which is what I was trying to do.

Ah. You type faster than I.

Mebbe this is the first time I've tried Mr. Teeth alone....?

Yeah, the  guy consists of five characters... : l o l : like that.

I also noticed that any items that are inside [ quote ] tags are not counted.

yeah, i got sick of

:)

posts. set it to 5. forget to count in the  thought. :p

i was hoping it would encourage people to post more than just simple smilies as a reply. been that way for at least a month now, i'm kind of surprised it took this long for anyone to say anything about it.

On the flip side, I think a 10 paragraph maximum is in order.

(you know who you are, you verbal diarrhea inflicted bastards)

It's a pretty simple solution...

Just add 'Screw Brad and alch' to the end of each post. :D

I guess maybe. That really isn't likely though, so how about we settle at every other post?

you never have to worry about the limit if you just add several smokeys to the end. :smokey: :smokey: :smokey: :smokey: :smokey:

I think there should be a 9 character minimum and a 10 character max

leaving us with just enough room to post "APPLE GOOD" over and over again.

If we had really big smilies would they count as more than 8 characters? :D

I'm not sure, but they should.

All the smilies should be 800x600. That would make this place really stand out ;)
