View Full Version : Killed a tweeter, where to buy a new one?

Someone else who lives in my house managed to kill a tweeter on my favorite speakers. Sounds all scratchy. (Well, I hope it's just the tweeter.) Anyone know a good place to buy a replacement?

The speakers in question are Boston Acoustics VR975s. The part in question is a 1" anodized aluminum tweeter.

I'm going to call BA on Monday, but at the moment, I have no idea what the part in question should cost, and I want to see if there is someone else who has the same part for less.

As for Google, I tend not to give my credit card info out to anyone other than Amazon, Apple, and PayPal, so before I did so, I was wondering if any novians had personal experience with an online store of this nature.

I'm just giving you some shtick.

The Google link was intended more for research purposes (to find out some reputable stores, recommendations from audio community message boards or whether any prices were mentioned) than to suggest you shop online.

Swap Left/Right speakers to make sure it's not an amp problem first.
