View Full Version : Good noise-cancelling headphones
I'm looking for some nice noise-canceling headphones for myself for christmas this year :)
...only problem is that I don't know what to look for. I really like the Bose Quietcomforts but I've heard around here and other places that they're way overpriced. any other recommendations? Preferably I'd like over-ear ones but I'd be willing to look at other options.

I've got the Bose. Love them, but didn't have to pay for them.
I think they were $350 with the second battery.
Did I say I love them??!!
I got the Etymotic Er-6i's and couldn't be happier...

I have the Bose QC2's. They are similar to the QC3's, but without rechargeable batteries. I love mine and think that the price is definitely worth it.
I've tried the Bose, and frankly, a $70 set of Sennheiser HD280's alone far surpasses them. Couple that with an amp like the HeadRoom BitHead for another $150 and you'll have an awesome setup.

I had some Sennheiser's, and while I liked them, they always felt a bit flimsy, and didn't really fit my head. (I've got a large one)
I did like the single AAA battery too, easy to keep a couple of those around, and they lasted quite a while. I think I paid around $130 for the pair I had.

I'll have to find them and get the model number, I let my daughter use them on our flights over Thanksgiving. They still work, and fit her a lot better than they ever fit me!!

Sennheiser PXC 250 are what I've got. There ok. Smaller headed people only!! ;)
I bought a pair of the V-Moda Vobes that include the mic for talking on my iPhone and they claim noise canceling:

I have actually been surprised how well they work and generally do not carry my Bose anymore on planes.

Got the Bose too - throwing it another vote - love mine!
I've got AKG K-55's, and I love them. I paid about $60-70 for them, and they're great for mixing.
Hope I'm advertising the type of headphones you're looking for...
